About The Position

The position involves providing specialized instruction and accommodations to students with disabilities, including autism, learning disabilities, and mild intellectual disabilities. The educator will be responsible for completing evaluations, writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and progress reports. Additionally, the role requires modifying curriculum to meet grade level entry points and implementing functional curricula. The educator will also implement behavior support plans, collect data to inform progress and interventions, and consult with general education teachers and staff. Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis, Social Thinking Curricula, and Zones of Regulation is required. The position also includes facilitating social skills groups and using incidental teaching techniques for social skills, as well as providing vocational skills as applicable to the program. Communication with families is an essential part of the role.
