About The Position

Pillar Elementary School, an approved private school for students with disabilities, is seeking a dedicated full-time Teacher of Students with Disabilities. The ideal candidate will work in a supportive, team-oriented environment, focusing on delivering individualized education and implementing high-quality curriculum tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.

Requirements

• BA/BS Degree or Higher in Special Education or Early Childhood Education
• NJ Certification as Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped
• Minimum of 2 years teaching students with disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Implement a high-quality curriculum while differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each child's IEP
• Use a broad range of assistive technology to address the diverse instructional needs of students
• Work collaboratively with professional staff using a team-based approach
• Provide supervision, guidance, and assistance to classroom aides and one-to-one nurses
• Collaborate closely with families to support the students
