About The Position

We are seeking a qualified Elementary Resource Special Education Teacher to support students in a resource setting at Margaret Hearne Elementary School. The ideal candidate will have experience managing IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting diverse learners within the elementary population.

Requirements

• Active EC (Exceptional Children) Licensure
• Ability to pass Wilson County required background check

Nice To Haves

• Experience with elementary special education population preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to students with disabilities
• Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Participate in required staff meetings
• Attend and lead IEP meetings (OT approved for additional meetings)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
• Monitor and document student progress
