Special Education Teacher Assistant Responsibilities & Duties Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student under the guidance of the special education teacher Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs Support in the assessment of students' progress and support student growth in response to the data Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure student success Implement positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) and other behavior management strategies Ability to work as part of a team in creating a strong classroom culture that focuses on student learning and safety Be able to interpret written plans and implement lessons with a small group of students Experience using technology and multimedia resources in the classroom Eagerness to learn and develop skills as an educator QualificationsSpecial Education Teacher Assistant Qualifications & Skills High School diploma required Experience working with school aged children with special needs is preferred Knowledge of individualized education plans and behavior management strategies is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
