About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dependable Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students in an Autism and Multiple Disabilities classroom setting. This role involves working closely with the classroom teacher and therapy staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support while fostering a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Interest or experience working with students with autism and/or multiple disabilities
- Ability to follow structured instructional and behavioral plans
- Strong patience, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain actively engaged in classroom support throughout the day
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a school or special education setting
- Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students during classroom instruction and structured activities
- Provide behavioral support and reinforcement strategies
- Assist with communication development and social skills
- Maintain classroom organization, safety, and positive routines
- Support student mobility and daily transitions
- Document student participation and progress as directed
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff
