About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and resilient Special Education Teacher Assistant to support a Grades 3–5 Autism (AUT) classroom within an elementary school setting. This is a 20-week contract role working closely with a lead special education teacher to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with autism spectrum disorders.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience, consistency, and professionalism.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing individualized lesson plans and academic interventions aligned with student IEPs.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and provide proactive support for students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
• Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment.
• Provide 1:1 or small-group support with daily activities, social skills development, and emotional regulation.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote student success.
