QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification Appropriate Special Education Endorsement (SV) Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred Experience with Special Education population preferred Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers START Training preferred ASD center based experience preferred Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable DUTIES: Provide teacher prep time Adapt, accommodate, and modify the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Assess, teach, and modify instruction and curricula for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Implement trauma-informed/resiliency based strategies & interventions Align and adapt the student's program with the general education curriculum Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior management strategies and plans. Use a range of curriculum guides to assist with identifying functional goals. Employ current assessment instruments and approaches, intervention methodologies, strategies, and techniques that are appropriate for students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, linking assessment outcomes to curriculum planning. Requirements
