About The Position

Child Find is obligated to provide year round evaluations for any school-age children that have been referred. Child Find teams need to be available for evaluations and IEP development during six weeks of the summer to ensure compliance. This job will require Special Education Teachers and the following special service providers: Speech-Language Pathologist, School Psychologist, School Nurse, Occupational Therapist, and BCBA - Over the summer to perform evaluations based on areas of need outlined in the referral. As part of the DCTA contract, the determined rate for all teacher and SSP summer extra pay positions has been set at $49.023 per hour. All staff must be interviewed and hired through the seasonal position. Educator hourly rate is only for approved compensatory education services. Please Note: This is an Hourly position, not eligible for Benefits. This temporary (Summer only) position will work on a multidisciplinary team from June 25 - August 7, 2026, no more than 20 hours/week.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required - Must meet educational requirements for given discipline (Masters Degree for Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, School Psychologist, or Bachelor’s Degree for Nursing, and Special Educator)
  • Must hold current Colorado Department of Education [https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeprof/checklist-initialspecialserviceprovider] Special Service Provider or appropriate teaching license, or or Type VI Temporary Special Service Provider License as well as appropriate national board certification for SSPs as indicated
  • 3+ years of experience working in special education or relevant expertise
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a multidisciplinary team from June 25 - August 7, 2026, no more than 20 hours/week.
  • Evaluate students, contribute to eligibility determination, identify and document goals, and contribute to IEP development.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with team members, staff, and parents about students’ evaluations, evaluation results, and plans
  • Be able to meet virtually and in-person for assessments and eligibility/IEP meetings at a variety of DPS school and/or community sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
