About The Position

The Special Education Self-Contained Teacher for Grades 6-8 will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. The teacher will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. This position requires collaboration with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive educational experience for students. The teacher will also be responsible for assessing student progress and adapting teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.

Requirements

• Teacher of the Handicapped certificate.
• Elementary School Teacher certificate AND Teacher of Students with Disabilities.
• Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6 certificate AND Teacher of Students with Disabilities certificate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff.
