Job Summary: Manages the route scheduling software and server (Edulog). Includes installing software, troubleshooting and overseeing all input/output of data. Performs a wide variety of mapping and routing functions for the utilization by school bus drivers, administrators, schools, and parents. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Evaluates, provides directions and first line supervision to bus drivers and bus monitors. Coordinates, schedules, prioritizes and assigns bus routes. Establishes priorities. Provides feedback, technical guidance and advises personnel of new or revised policies and procedures. Prepares bus transportation schedules, routes and maps. Enters new or updated student information, bus stop locations, route run maps and directions and street location maps including intersections. Tracks student's time on bus, number of seats available, student assignments to bus routes, bus driver assignments to bus routes, bus arrival and departure times and safety concerns or issues. Manages, troubleshoots and resolves specialized computer databases and related software. Works with school administration, parents, educational and program staff to handle issues and concerns related to students, drivers, assistants, parents or schools. As required, researches and reviews legislation and technical manuals and journals for changing concepts, new and/or revised legislation impacting routing, scheduling and/or other requirements. Maintains current certification requirements for Commercial Driver License and School Bus Driver. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
