The Blackstone Community K-6 School is seeking motivated educators that demonstrate a deep commitment to school improvement. The Blackstone is a vibrant learning community of nearly 600 students who come from neighborhoods across Boston. Our students speak eight or more languages and represent a rich tapestry of cultures, identities, and lived experiences. Each child brings brilliance, potential, and a powerful story—and it is our shared responsibility to ensure they are seen, valued, and supported every day. At the Blackstone Community School, we empower one another to learn, grow, succeed, and become our best selves. Collaboration is at the heart of our work, and we believe that when educators feel supported, challenged, and inspired, students thrive. We are deeply committed to building the conditions that allow every student—and every educator—to shine. The Special Education Program Director will assist the leadership of the school in carrying out all Chapter 28 regulatory responsibilities required for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations and court orders. In addition, it is expected that the Program Director for Special Education will improve the quality of instruction for all students with disabilities, assist in the professional development activities for both regular and special education staff, and contribute to the overall culture of the school as an agent of change committed to progressive educational reform and meeting the needs of all students in a rigorous academic environment.
