• Arizona Special Education Certificate with appropriate endorsement
• Early Childhood Certification

• Such alternatives to the above required & preferred qualifications as the Superintendent/Designee may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct appropriate academic evaluations; develop, implement and monitor appropriate academic/behavior individual education plans (IEP’s).
• Maintain accurate records for documentation of student progress.
• Participate in the MET process.
• Plan, conduct and/or participate in inservice activities.
• Maintain on-going communication (verbal and written) with parents of special education students.
• Direct activities of instructional assistants.
• Participate in preschool screenings.
• Provide performance evaluation input regarding special education instructional assistant(s) to school administrator.
• Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by the building principal and/or director of Pupil Services.
• Maintain DHS instructor requirements.
• Attend all necessary trainings and department meetings.
• Perform such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent/Designee.
