The Behavior Support Paraprofessional is responsible for providing services and supports to the instructional program within assigned classroom(s) with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with unique or specialized needs in the regular classroom or in a specialized program; assisting in developing and implementing plans or interventions/strategies for instruction on academic and social/emotional skills, monitoring and intervening with student behavior and providing information to appropriate school personnel. The Behavior Support Paraprofessional will apply the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and humanistic behavioral approaches when working with students to ensure students are provided with the support they need to access the least restrictive environment (LRE).
