This position requires the Special Education Paraprofessional to remain calm and poised in stressful situations and work toward solutions and possibilities. TheSpecial Education Paraprofessional maintains confidentiality and uses discretion in all aspects of communication. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Paraprofessional to support diverse learners in achieving academic success. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Experience working with children or students in an educational setting
  • Strong command of the English language (spoken and written)
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
  • Ability to provide small group instruction to students
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, races, genders, ages, and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with IEPs in small groups and one-on-one settings
  • Assist lead teachers in planning and delivering intervention focused instructional activities
  • Provide scaffolding and academic support across subject areas
  • Provide interventions as outlined in IEP and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Help monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student needs
  • Assist with classroom management and preparation of materials
  • Support school-wide activities and contribute to a positive school culture
