Cross Country Education is seeking exceptional Paraprofessionals ready to champion the success of high-risk students in Chicago, IL , for the current school year. Position Overview: Provide 1-on-1 and small-group academic assistance to high school students in the mild-to-moderate range to support credit recovery and graduation. Assist students navigating barriers like poverty, housing insecurity, and educational gaps as a trauma-informed role model for high-risk youth. Partner with lead teachers to implement re-engagement strategies for students with histories of chronic truancy to encourage daily participation. Apply flexible de-escalation and behavior management techniques to support students transitioning back into a structured school environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Valid Illinois PEL with Paraprofessional Endorsement OR a Substitute License
- Proven ability to remain patient and solution-oriented in a non-traditional, high-need charter school setting
