The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2024-25 school year: Goshen High School Special Education Paraprofessional POSITION PURPOSE: Assists the teacher/consultant in meeting the instructional, personal, and social needs related to students with disabilities’ individual education plans and regular classroom curriculum as needed by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential functions satisfactorily. Assists in caring for the personal needs of students. Implements activities developed by the teacher from the IEP. Provides instruction as directed by the teacher. Collects and summarize student progress data as directed by the classroom teacher. Provides general supervision to students under teacher’s direction. Monitors students’ abilities through written documentation and observation. Communicates programmatic information to the teacher. Participates, as appropriate, in IEP conferences. Displays flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the students. Provides support/ training for job situations. Knows how to implement emergency procedures. Keeps inventory records current and tracks location of materials that have been checked out. Schedules case conferences and notifies appropriate individuals, at the request of the supervising teacher. Adapts classroom materials (enlarge, record, braille, tactile books). Facilitates communication process between regular education teachers and the teacher/Consultant for the specific disability areas. Performs other duties as assigned.
