About The Position

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associates Degree preferred. Experience working with elementary age students desirable. First Aid/CPR certification desirable. Experience with students with disabilities required. Able to work collaboratively with colleagues. Experience working with students with a variety of learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to follow teacher direction. Requires patience and flexibility. Ability to interact and take direction from a variety of professionals. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist classroom teacher and/or special education teacher in implementing accommodations and/or modifications for students requiring such supports. Assist general and special education teachers in collecting data on student progress. Collaborate with other staff in implementing behavioral intervention plans, as needed. Support student independence through the acquisition of skills and strategies. Other duties may be assigned by the building principal or superintendent. Hours will be assigned by the principal. REPORTS TO: Principal and/or other Supervisor SALARY: $16.84 to $23.31 per hour in accordance with the paraprofessional contract.
