About The Position

OAPSE transfer bid requests (internal applications) will be accepted until 2:00 pm on 11/21/2025 External applications will be accepted until the position is filled. 2025-2026 Assignment Area: AMS Please note: Special Education Paraprofessional Instructional Assistants will be assigned each school year based on student and district needs. Building location, classroom assignment and report times may change. Contract Hours: 5.75-hours per day Report Times: 9:00 am to 2:45 pm for the 2025-2026 school year (report times are based on the building schedule and are subject to change) Salary: $15.13 starting hourly rate with annual step increases following the OAPSE negotiated agreement. Reports To: Building Principals and the Special Education Director Evaluations: Performance is evaluated annually per the OAPSE negotiated agreement Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (See Administrator for specific details of assignment) Monitor student(s) individually, in small or large groups, in a variety of circumstances relating to the school environment Ability to assist in a self-contained special education classroom Maintain a high level of confidentiality Provide leadership by enforcing pupil behavior set forth by the building principal Ensure that students are in a safe, secure environment at all times Employ a variety of strategies to manage student behavior and conflict Assist with classroom management duties, including small group instruction Attend CPI training and refresher courses as assigned. Must possess computer skills to assist students with computers or when performing clerical duties Operate office equipment All other duties consistent with the attached general job description as assigned by the Building Administrators, Special Education Director, Superintendent, or designee Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The successful candidate must complete all required Vector/SafeSchools courses as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks
  • Rapback Enrolled
  • Ohio Educational Aide Permit with ESEA endorsement
  • Negative drug screen

Responsibilities
