About The Position

The primary function of this position is to provide instruction for students with disabilities that supports learning and results in decreased behavior and increased achievement. The role involves developing or selecting and modifying lessons and materials to meet individual student needs, utilizing special methodology for instruction to support student progress using GPS standards, and developing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing the Individualized Education Program (EIP) for each student on the caseload. The position also addresses the unique needs of students in the caseload, including those who are moderately, intellectually disabled, orthopedically impaired, severely and profoundly disabled, or require signing for deaf/hard of hearing students. Continuous evaluation of student progress is essential, along with maintaining appropriate records and following due process procedures for all referred and eligible students with disabilities.
