At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Murrieta, CA ! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Murrieta, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Murrieta, CA Schedule: 15 hours, 3 sessions a week for 1-1.25 hour Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Valid teaching credential required Literacy specialist certification or extensive background in structured literacy instruction required Experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and/or dyslexia Strong expertise in foundational literacy, including phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and reading comprehension Knowledge of evidence-based reading interventions for non-readers and significantly below grade-level learners Skilled in language development and communication support strategies Experience embedding social skills instruction into academic sessions Creative and able to integrate art-based, multisensory, and hands-on learning approaches Patient, engaging, and able to balance structured instruction with creativity Flexible scheduling to accommodate extracurricular activities Why Tutor Me Education? Requirements

  • Valid teaching credential required
  • Literacy specialist certification or extensive background in structured literacy instruction required
  • Experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and/or dyslexia

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted, evidence-based instruction in foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension
  • Support the development of reading independence and functional literacy skills
  • Deliver structured literacy intervention tailored to a non-reader at the middle school level
  • Provide consistent homework support during each session
  • Strengthen language and communication skills through guided discussion, vocabulary development, and expressive language activities
  • Integrate social skills development naturally into sessions, including teamwork, peer interaction, appropriate social behavior, and functional life skills
  • Incorporate creative, art-based instructional strategies (e.g., drawing, sculpting, clay modeling, puppet-making) to enhance engagement and retention
  • Utilize sensory-based tools and hands-on materials to reinforce literacy concepts
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and independence
  • Collaborate with caregivers as needed to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies
