About The Position

Are you interested in an internship that provides a unique perspective to the education field? Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) this summer as a Special Education Intern! This is a paid in-person internship in our Grand Rapids Service Center office. The duration of the internship is mid-May through early August. Internships are for those enrolled in a college/university program or a recent graduate. For candidates that don’t meet this criteria, please explore our other open positions here . Requirements

  • Must have solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have adequate organization skills to manage workload.
  • Must be able to balance multiple tasks and assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Summer Professional Development (PD) Support – Assist in planning, organizing, and preparing materials such as slide decks, participant guides, and facilitator resources to support high-quality professional development for leaders and school teams during summer sessions and ongoing trainings.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Coordination – Manage logistics for school-based CPI trainings, including scheduling, communication with trainers and participants, and tracking completion to ensure all schools meet required safety and compliance standards.
  • Account and Data Management – Create, update, and maintain Special Education staff accounts and related data systems to ensure accurate access, organization, and compliance across all platforms.
