About The Position

The employee serves as a teacher leader in specialized instruction for students with disabilities. The instructional coach facilitates professional development related to the school and district’s instruction and curriculum goals aligned with demonstrated instructional/professional needs. As a leader and specialist, the coach works under the supervision of the Director of Pupil Services, and supports teachers and support staff in identifying, developing, and implementing curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies designed to improve the learning of students with disabilities. As an instructional coach, the employee may work in a variety of elementary, secondary, individual or team teaching settings.

Requirements

Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certification/licensure
Demonstrate a desire to aid all students
Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned

Responsibilities

Serve as District Testing Coordinator
Share attendance of ETR/IEP meetings as District Representative with the Director of Pupil Services.
Conduct compliance checks of ETR/IEP assigned prior to meetings.
Follow up with ETR/IEP feedback after meetings as needed and communicate with Director of Pupil Services.
Collaborate with Director of Pupil Services to create Professional Development.
Conduct in depth reviews of at least 1 IEP and ETR for each intervention specials with face to face feedback.
Assists with communication and updates of district policies and procedures.
Assist with quarterly newsletters to families, staff, and update websites.
The instructional coach will co-lead special education department meetings serving as advisor, resource specialist, and facilitator in faculty, grade level, department, and/or professional learning community meetings.
Conduct other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services.
