About The Position
The Special Education Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of a rigorous curriculum and instructional program that promotes student success and achievement within La Joya ISD. This position involves assisting the teacher with classroom instruction to maximize learning for all students, particularly those with special needs. The assistant will supervise, care for, and instruct special needs students in both regular and self-contained classrooms, observe and document student progress and behavior, implement instructional plans, and monitor student behavior during non-classroom times.
