The South Central Regional Professional Development Center is seeking an Educational Program Coordinator III to provide training to district staff and assist in the implementation of effective research-based activities aimed at improving academic performance and post-secondary outcomes for all students, particularly those with disabilities. The role involves facilitating on and off-site trainings in effective instructional practices, especially for early childhood children with disabilities, to enhance graduation rates and ensure successful transitions from school to post-school activities. The coordinator will provide training, technical assistance, and coaching in various teaching practices and strategies, collaborate with the Regional Professional Development Center team, and represent the center positively in all engagements.

  • Provide training to district staff and assist in the implementation of effective research-based activities.
  • Facilitate on and off-site trainings to districts/schools in effective instructional practices.
  • Provide training, technical assistance, and coaching in identified teaching practices/strategies.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the Regional Professional Development Center to promote best practices.
  • Attend and actively participate in all DESE required statewide meetings/trainings.
  • Represent the South Central Regional Professional Development Center and the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Meet all requirements to provide training as specified in the consolidated contract for special education improvement consultants.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Master's degree, with a major in Special Education.
  • Minimum of five years as a special education educator; experience as a Special Education Director or Process Coordinator is preferred.
  • Teaching certification and certification in Special Education area(s); Special Education Administration certification is preferred.
  • Experience analyzing standardized assessment data related to students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of professional learning communities, positive behavior supports, assessment for learning, and/or co-teaching strategies.
  • Experience with designing programs for students with multiple disabilities.
