About The Position

Elementary Special Education ED Instructor 2026-2027 School year; 186 contract days, 100% FTE Location: Mandan High School Salary: Starting $55,550 for Bachelors degree; starting $57,072 for Master's degree. Full benefit package included. Position Summary: Mandan Public Schools is currently seeking a Special Education Instructor. This position will provide support and instruction to students having academic, physical, and/or behavioral needs. Essential Functions: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the specified days and hours. Factors such as regular attendance at the job are not routinely listed in job descriptions, but are an essential function. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Use individualized positive behavior reinforcement and instruction techniques to keep students on the path toward greatness. Create and execute individual education plans for each of the students in your care. Communicate with other staff and family members about each student’s progress and programing needs. Lead or participate in IEP (individual education plan) meetings as scheduled . Invite family members to participate in each student’s educational progress. Create and distribute progress reports. Create a safe, productive classroom environment. Reports to: Building Principal Qualifications: Must hold appropriate license from the ND Education Standards and Practices Board with a Special Education Endorsement or eligible for a plan on file.
