About The Position

Provides small group and/or individualized instruction to young children with special needs.-Provide small group instruction for three, four, and five year olds who have substantial special needs that can be met within a public school program. Design prescriptive language, visual, auditory, and fine motor activities. Design classroom management techniques for individuals and small groups. Maintain close communication with parents and with specialists. Prepare semi-annual reports, annual review narratives, and individualized educational plans for pupils in the program. Attend special needs staff meetings and designated school staff meetings. Submit budget requests, inventory data, and required status reports as requested.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts certification in Early Childhood Education and Teacher of Children with Moderate Special Needs/
  • Experience teaching young children with language and/or developmental delays, behavioral disorders, pervasive developmental delays
  • Superior diagnostic and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in specific training in speech and language development and behavior management preferred.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
