As a Special Education Coordinator with Special School District, you serve as a trusted leader for special education teams across assigned partner districts. You guide programming, support staff, and work alongside building leaders to ensure students receive high-quality, compliant, and student-centered services. Your leadership helps create learning environments where inclusion and collaboration are intentional, and educators feel supported in their work with students and families. In this role, you oversee daily operations, supervise special education staff, manage budgets, and ensure alignment with federal, state, and District requirements. You partner closely with principals and District leaders to identify needs, implement improvements, and maintain effective systems that support both students and staff. Through thoughtful guidance, clear communication, and a commitment to continuous growth, you help shape programs that improve student outcomes across St. Louis County. Special education coordinators work in districts throughout St. Louis County, Monday through Friday, typically 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The primary office for each position will be within the district served, but travel to various buildings in the district, as well as SSD’s Learning Center and Central Office, will be required.
