About The Position
The Special Education Coordinator at Albert Einstein Academies (AEA) is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring high-quality, compliant, and inclusive special education services across elementary and secondary campuses. Reporting to the Site Principals and collaborating closely with AEA leadership, the Coordinator supports the development and oversight of innovative and equitable special education programs, while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Key responsibilities include recruiting and supporting special education staff, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, managing external provider relationships, and contributing to system-wide initiatives like Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This role also oversees data systems (SEIS, PowerSchool, CALPADS), supports IEP development, and provides leadership in family engagement, professional development, and policy implementation.
