About The Position

As our Special Education Lead Case Manager, you'll oversee Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations. This leadership role focuses on coordination, development, and implementation of comprehensive educational plans that transform the lives of students with disabilities and their families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Valid Wisconsin Special Education teaching or administrative license
  • Thorough knowledge of IDEA and relevant federal/state special education laws
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
  • Experience working with diverse racial/cultural populations and families
  • Detail-oriented approach with focus on compliance and best practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead IEP Excellence: Develop, review, and monitor implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans for your designated caseload
  • Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings with all required personnel and stakeholders
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments during evaluation and reevaluation processes
  • Perform Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Maintain detailed records ensuring complete compliance with IDEA regulations
  • Build Collaborative Partnerships: Serve as primary liaison between school staff, families, and external agencies
  • Provide professional guidance to teachers on special education best practices
  • Create supportive materials (schedules, social stories, visuals) for classroom implementation
  • Coordinate meetings and assessments for students in the special education process
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on IEP processes and compliance standards
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and respond to school and district needs for special education process improvements
  • Update and maintain management systems for optimal efficiency
  • Ensure all practices align with state and federal laws and district policies
  • Support innovative approaches to inclusive education within One City's model
