About The Position
The Newton Community School District is seeking applications for a Special Education Strat II:BD Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Berg Middle School. This role requires candidates to hold or be in the process of obtaining a current Iowa Teaching License with a K-12 Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD (263) endorsement. The district supports professional development by offering tuition assistance for graduate credits towards a Strat II:BD endorsement for those who currently possess a Strat I license. A mandatory requirement upon hire is the successful completion of both the physical and safety components of Nonviolent Crisis Prevention (CPI) training, which will be provided by the district. All application materials and certificates must be submitted electronically.
Requirements
- Hold or be in the process of obtaining a current Iowa Teaching License in the K-12 Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD (263) endorsement area
- Successfully complete both physical and safety components of Nonviolent Crisis Prevention (CPI) training provided by the district upon hire
