Muscatine Schools is hiring a Special Education Aide for Muscatine High School. This Special Education Aide will support students in the Project Search program at various internship locations throughout the community. This Para will support Project Search students by assisting them in various ways throughout their work days. This is a unique Para position and the person in this Special Education position, as the only Para support for these Project Search students, will be expected to have excellent attendance. This position is scheduled for 6.25 hrs/day (6 hours 15 minutes per day), Monday through Friday, with an approximate schedule of 8am - 2:45pm. Starting pay for this position is $16.93/hour. These positions may begin/end with very little notice. The District sets the total paid hours for each position based on the recommendation of the Director of Teaching and Learning. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: May be required to be certified to administer medication. Required to take Chapter 103 Training __ Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (includes preventative strategies, de-escalation skills, and communication techniques) which will be provided through internal training. May receive other training(s) as required. OBJECTIVE: Assist classroom teacher in helping students to increase their academic and behavioral goals, and social skills.
