About The Position
Mason City Schools Classified Opening Posting Date: November 3, 2025 Position: Special Education Aide Location: Mason High School Performance Responsibilities Supports the student(s) in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks, guiding and helping, but not teaching. Under supervision of the intervention specialist teacher, works one on one or with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher. Performs clerical duties such as running copies, putting up bulletin board, preparing materials, etc. Implements teacher-directed interventions to support pupil performance objectives. Assists students where necessary in accomplishing self-help skills and gradually decrease support as appropriate. Assists in documentation of pupil performance. Assist in toileting needs, including diapering. Will work with student(s) who has medical needs which could include tube feedings, insulin testing, etc. Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a BCI&I and FBI criminal background check
