About The Position

The Department of Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. Screening of applicants will take place when positions come available. The number of these temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the program. As such, not everyone in the applicant pool for this position will be contacted and/or selected to teach.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree.

  • Doctoral degree or ABD status.

Responsibilities

  • Teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester.
  • Areas to be taught include assessment, classroom management, math methods, reading methods, IEP development, emotional and behavioral disabilities, transition, and mild, moderate, and severe disabilities.
  • Be available during the school day to supervise clinical experiences for some courses.
  • Be available for consultation with students before and after class.
  • Deliver course content to students, prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, and provide timely feedback.
  • Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
  • Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed.
  • Maintain office hours and comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
