About The Position

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Glebe Elementary School. The Special Education Teacher implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials, maintains a safe and orderly environment, communicates with parents/guardians, maintains complete and accurate student records, collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members, monitors and assesses student achievement, and attends ongoing professional learning and meetings.

Requirements

• Teaching experience in the above mentioned area
• Knowledge of best instructional practices
• Ability to integrate technology
• Experience in educational and instructional leadership
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure in Special Education

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsed preferred
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or any other content area, is preferred but not required
