About The Position

The Special Construction Equipment Operator will perform skilled work in the operation of construction equipment used during water/sewer system installation, maintenance, and repair. The operator must be able to operate backhoes in close proximity to other utilities including gas lines, electrical cables, and telephone cables. All work must be performed in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, permits, and/or standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five (5) years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Valid South Carolina Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one within six months from initial date of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment for water/sewer system installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Work in close proximity to other utilities.

Benefits

• $20.78/hour; 2080 hours/year
