This position is located in the Office of Protocol and International Affairs (OPIA) within the Office of the Secretary of the District of Columbia. The Office of the Secretary provides protocol, authentication, and public records management services to the Mayor and District government agencies. In addition to managing the District of Columbia's Archives, commissioning all District of Columbia Notaries Public, and publishing the District of Columbia Register and the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations, the Office of the Secretary is responsible for maintaining official records of mayoral actions and preparing executive orders, proclamations, directives, and administrative issuances. Incumbent is responsible for providing support to the Protocol Officer by performing a wide range of administrative and programmatic work and acts as an intermediary for investigating critical and sensitive matters that may interest the supervisor. Assignments involve providing day-to-day advice, objective analyses, and recommendations on a variety of issues related to the full range of responsibilities of the Secretary. Incumbent ensures that the Secretary's goals and objectives for the daily administrative operation are accomplished.
