About The Position
The Office of Correctional Safety (OCS) supports the mission of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The OCS mission is to protect the public and serve the CDCR investigative and security interests. The OCS is the primary departmental link with allied law enforcement agencies and the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CalOES). The Office of Correctional Safety is comprised of the following sub-units: Special Service Unit (SSU), Fugitive Apprehension Teams (FAT), Emergency Operations Unit (EOU), Emergency Planning and Management Unit (EPMU), Criminal Intelligence Analysis Unit (CIAU), Investigative Training Unit (ITU). Under the direction of the Senior Special Agent, Criminal Intelligence Analysis Unit (CIAU), the Special Agent will support the CIAU mission as an information collection and sharing gateway with the intent to assist correctional and law enforcement agencies in detecting, preventing and solving crimes that have a nexus to California Security Threat Groups (STGs). The Special Agent will support the CIAU mission in one or multiple roles/assignments including asset forfeiture, financial crimes/fraud investigations, violent extremism/terrorism investigations, human trafficking, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and other specialized technology or cyber/digital forensics investigations.
