About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Special Agent-in-Charge, the Special Agent Supervisor is responsible for the administration and supervision of the Bureau of Firearms, Firearms Investigations and Dangerous Weapons Enforcement Team, which perform enforcement duties related to illegal firearm violations. Requirements

  • Candidates must have a current California POST Basic or Specialized Certificate which meets Penal Codes 830.1, 830.2 or 830.3 in order to be considered.
  • The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) Psychological Evaluation clearance prior to being hired.

  • Knowledge of criminal, administrative, and background investigation processes; knowledge of the different divisions of the Department of Justice and services provided by each.
  • excellent personnel management skills; ability to communicate effectively with high-level law enforcement managers and the public (both orally and in writing); and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
