About The Position

The FBI is seeking Special Agents with a linguistics background to utilize their language skills in various investigative roles. This position involves interviewing victims, translating during interrogations, and testifying in court, with a focus on languages such as Arabic, Bosnian, Chinese, Farsi, Russian, Somali, Uzbek, and Korean. Special Agents will undergo rigorous training and have opportunities to work on complex cases, requiring a commitment to physical fitness and availability for assignments worldwide.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be at least 23 years old and not have reached your 37th birthday on appointment.
• Must be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI Clearance.
• Must have two years of full-time professional work experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with at least six months of driving experience.
• Must have a bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S.-accredited college or university.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in linguistics or language-related fields.
• Familiarity with cultural knowledge relevant to the languages spoken.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to strict standards of conduct and undergo a rigorous background investigation.
• Pass all physical fitness requirements and maintain a high level of fitness throughout your career.
• Complete approximately 18 weeks of training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA.
• Be available to transfer to one of the FBI's 56 Field Offices after graduation.
• Work a minimum of a 50-hour workweek, including irregular hours and being on-call 24/7.
• Participate in arrests, execute search warrants, and conduct raids as necessary.
