About The Position
As a Special Agent with the FBI, you will leverage your medical and public safety background to contribute to critical investigations involving healthcare fraud and abuse. This role is designed for individuals who possess a unique blend of skills and expertise, particularly those with experience in medical fields such as nursing or therapy. Special Agents are tasked with applying their professional knowledge to aid in the investigation of healthcare-related fraud, including medical, dental, and vision insurance fraud, as well as government program abuse. Your role will involve evidence collection and logical thinking to navigate complex cases that require a deep understanding of healthcare systems. Upon joining, you will undergo rigorous training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, where you will complete approximately 18 weeks of specialized training. This training is essential for preparing you to handle the unique challenges presented by the FBI's investigations, which are often more complex than those encountered in the private sector. As a Special Agent, you will be expected to maintain a high level of physical fitness and adhere to strict standards of conduct throughout your career. You will also be required to be available for temporary duty assignments globally, which may involve irregular hours and on-call responsibilities, including weekends and holidays. The position offers a competitive salary range of $97,300 to $125,544, commensurate with experience and location. New agents can expect salaries starting from $81,243 upon graduation from the Academy, with opportunities for advancement based on performance and experience.
