About The Position

The Material Worker position at PPL Corporation involves managing materials and inventory within the Regional Service Center storerooms and warehouses. The role includes receiving, issuing, returning, and maintaining materials, as well as coordinating tools and equipment to support various work activities. This is a union position based in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and requires physical ability to perform manual tasks associated with the job.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the PPL Logistics Aptitude Test or its replacement.
• Possess a valid Class 'C' motor vehicle operator's license.
• Adequate physical ability to perform manual work associated with job duties.

Responsibilities

• Uses software and associated hardware devices to perform Material Worker duties.
• Picks, packs, delivers, and ships materials, tools, and other items as requested.
• Receives material in the warehouse and processes the receipt in the current system.
• Processes returns of materials.
• Stocks material in the warehouse.
• Organizes and maintains materials in the Service Center laydown yard.
• Picks, organizes, and bins materials to support upcoming jobs.
• Conducts inventory checks and cycle counts as directed.
• Uses powered industrial lift trucks to move material.
• Operates common hand tools, banding machine, hand coiling machine, scales, and other necessary tools.
