About The Position

The Financial Eligibility Specialist is responsible for assisting patients and/or the financial assistance process and securing some type of third party payment for uninsured and indigent patients. This position is responsible for doing whatever is necessary and appropriate for securing some level of reimbursement for the patients served.

Requirements

• Aptitude for math, computer and software operations and keyboarding.
• Ability to develop and present clearly articulated oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand Federal, State and Local Regulatory information applicable to patient accounting and healthcare services.
• Use of MS Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Use of database applications preferred.
• 1-2 years of Social work or Medicaid eligibility experience OR an Associate's Degree (or higher) may be accepted in lieu AND 1-2 years of customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health or related field.
• Three to five (3-5) years of social work experience assisting patients with applying for Federal, State or Local governmental healthcare programs.
