Job Summary Summary Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the sterile processing department in a healthcare facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Experience as a Central Sterile Technician, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years required
  • In-depth knowledge of sterile processing principles, practices, and infection control standards.
  • Proficiency in handling instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used in sterile processing.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the sterile processing department, including staffing, workflow management, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the timely receipt, inspection, decontamination, and processing of instruments and equipment from the operating rooms or other departments.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with sterilization standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and manage the inventory of sterile supplies, including receiving, inspecting, restocking, and tracking items.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to sterile processing technicians.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure instrument availability and meet patient care needs.
