About The Position

The SPD Certified Instrument Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient technical operations in the GI lab, ensuring optimal patient care during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This position involves supporting patient care through various service-oriented functions, including inventory management, quality control testing, and direct patient assistance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of Sterile Processing experience and/or surgical experience.
  • CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to read and understand instructions.
  • Basic computer skills including email and internet use.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • More than two years of Sterile Processing experience and/or surgical experience preferred.
  • Certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IASCHM) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining an efficient technical operation in the GI lab.
  • Support patient care through inventory management and quality control testing.
  • Ensure equipment and room readiness for procedures.
  • Provide patient transport and secretarial duties for the unit.
  • Assist directly in providing patient care, including monitoring vital signs and personal care.
