About The Position

Cansortium Inc. is a vertically integrated cultivator, processor, formulator, and retailer of Premium Cannabis Products currently operating in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas as FLUENT Cannabis. The SPARK internship program is designed to provide hands-on experience and practical learning opportunities. The intern will work closely with the Retail Department to contribute to ongoing projects, gain insight into cannabis retail strategies, and develop skills that align with their academic and career goals. The Legal Intern will gain legal experience and training working under the supervision of FLUENT attorneys in a variety of practice areas of interest, including corporate transactions, securities, compliance & regulatory, government affairs & policy, litigation, and real estate. This position is expected to work full time, approximately 40 hours per week, at FLUENT's Tampa office. The internship is expected to last ten weeks from early June through mid-August 2025, although specific dates are flexible. Academic credit may be received subject to approval by the Legal Intern's academic institution.

Requirements

  • Must Current J.D. Candidate in good academic standing, Class of 2026 or 2027 (i.e., current 1L or 2L law students)
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Interest in a variety of legal work.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Research and summarize legal, regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Draft, review, evaluate, and edit contracts and other legal documents.
  • Organize and catalogue contracts and corporate records.
  • Help build and improve legal department processes.
  • Assist with special projects and other day-to-day matters.
  • Attend regularly scheduled trainings.
  • Liaison with other company departments, including finance, marketing, operations, and sales.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
