About The Position

Performs in a variety of roles or provides support and technical knowledge in two or more of the job specialties assigned within the Supply Chain job family. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Establish and iteratively improve a program to periodically review spare parts for obsolescence. Establish periodicity for reviewing critical spares for obsolescence. Effectively manage and coordinate an Obsolescence program and vendor outreach for 5,000+ spare parts inventory using available tools (Excel, SharePoint, etc.). Inform System Engineering of spares that are obsolete or will become obsolete; assist Systems Engineering with tracking and reporting the identification of equivalent spares. Develop and maintains good working relationships with vendors with a goal of identifying obsolescence impacts before they negatively impact Y12 's mission schedule. Creates and updates documentation (e.g., procedures, policies, and process maps) related to obsolescence management. Perform data analysis and create dashboards highlighting the performance of the Spares and Obsolescence Organization. Regularly complete status reports for obsolescence and critical spares to Y-12 leadership . Collaborate with project team, customers, subcontractors, and support organizations to achieve performance objectives. Contribute to process improvement projects. Perform other related duties as assigned. Defined: Obsolescence is the state of being which occurs when an item, (raw material, component , or subassembly) has changed configuration or is no longer maintained or manufactured. Often technology changes due to the introduction of new technology or manufactures go out of business or decide to discontinue a product. An obsolescence program identifies these issues ahead of time so replacement parts (engineering equivalences) can be identified before Production/Operations are negatively impacted. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • OR Ten or more years of relevant education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements for this posting.
  • Must be physically fit to perform the below job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation.
