Applications are now being accepted for a Part-Time Spanish Teacher for Lower School for the 2026-2027 school year. Applications are now being accepted for the following position for the 2026-2027 School Year: Spanish Teacher – Part-Time – Lower School Grades 4 and 5. Approximately 9 hours weekly. Requirements

  • Teacher should be experienced and knowledgeable in all levels of Spanish.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to develop curriculum in Spanish.
  • Familiarity or mastery with ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) standards for language proficiency highly preferred.
  • Passion for teaching and celebrating Spanish language and Hispanic culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience, preferably in Lower &/or Middle School.
  • Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
  • Ability to sit or stand for the majority of a normal workday.
  • Positions may vary from standing, sitting, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must have near and distance vision abilities sufficient for a classroom and computer work.
  • Must be able to hear sufficiently in order to communicate with others and hear vocalizations within a classroom.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and loudly enough to be understood.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with moderate noise level.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity or mastery with ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) standards for language proficiency highly preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Spanish 2 to grades 4 and 5 in Lower School.
  • Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.
  • Track student data and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations.
  • Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required.
  • Continuously communicate and build relationships with students and families.
  • Create an inviting and engaging classroom culture.
  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
