About The Position
St. Catherine of Siena School is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position involves teaching Preschool through 8 th grade students. Located in the beautiful Maple Leaf community of north Seattle, we offer a competitive wage and a welcoming, inclusive environment. Requirements
- Fluent in speaking Spanish
- Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing to students via both English and Spanish
- A Bachelor's degree or greater; current Washington state teaching certification required
- Successful prior experience teaching Spanish in an elementary classroom setting
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction for a wide range of student abilities and needs
- Proficient technology skills, including use of Google classroom and applications, interactive projectors or whiteboards, and general instructional technology
Responsibilities
- Provides Spanish instruction to students in Preschool through 8 th grade
- Plans lessons and units that engage student learners through a variety of instructional methods and reflects best practices
- Uses formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and monitor students' progress
- Ensures curriculum, materials, and instructional practices are aligned with World Language Standards and Common Core State Standards
- Regularly integrates technology in lessons to support student learning
- Provides feedback to parents regarding student progress
- Assures the creation and maintenance of a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and encourages students to think critically
- Collaborates with fellow teachers and staff in the implementation of instructional programs and activities that promotes the Catholic identity and goals of the school
- Regularly pursues professional development opportunities and maintains a growth mindset
