About The Position

SPANISH TEACHER (PreK-8th Grade Roles) Instruction and learning provided in English and Spanish. This posting is for a position during the 2026-2027 school year and would start in August 2026. Requirements

  • Language Proficiency: Near-native fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish.
  • Teaching Certification: Possession of a valid teaching license in Missouri or another U.S. state, or eligibility to teach in the country where the teacher received their professional training. Acceptable certifications include: Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Special Education Elementary Education Middle School Education High School Education
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Literacy, Language, or a closely related field.

  • Teaching experience in K-8 classroom
  • Strong data tracking and interpretation habits
  • Solid understanding of academic and behavioral strategies for students with various needs
  • Knowledge of best practices when working with language learners

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in core content areas (literacy, math, science, etc.) to PreK-8th grade students, depending on grade level assigned, in target language and English
  • Ensures safety of students by providing active supervision
  • Builds strong relationships based on mutual respect across dimensions of difference with students, families, and all stakeholders
  • Provides appropriate, research-based scaffolds and differentiates instruction
  • Develops and uses an effective classroom culture plan
  • Collects and analyzes data, and uses it to drive decisions
  • Prepares and implements daily lessons aligned to the curriculum
  • Provides high-quality and consistent input in the language of instruction per the dual language model
