About The Position

We’re seeking a Spanish teacher who is passionate about language acquisition and cultural exploration, and who delights in guiding students as they build confidence in communication, engage in lively conversation, and deepen their understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. We seek an educator who brings experience, enthusiasm, and skill in teaching Spanish across all levels, from introductory through advanced, with a commitment to thoughtful curriculum design. Teaching here is more than what happens in the classroom. As a faculty member, you’ll also serve as an advisor, coach, and mentor, helping students navigate school, discover new interests, and grow into their best selves. Requirements

  • A degree in Spanish or a related, interdisciplinary field is essential
  • Native or near-native language skills in Spanish and English (the flexibility to teach French a plus)
  • At least some experience teaching at the secondary level (2+ years preferred)
  • Ability to connect with diverse learners and teach inclusively
  • A commitment to community, mentoring, and the full life of a residential school
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Comfort with educational tech tools (Google Suite, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Teaching introductory to advanced levels of Spanish across grades 9 through 12
  • Advising a small group of students and fostering their growth—academically and personally
  • Giving meaningful, timely feedback that challenges and inspires
  • Collaborating with department colleagues on curriculum design and innovation
  • Engaging fully in community life: coaching, supervising residential evenings, participating in Saturday classes or programs, and more
